REMINDER – Get the Drift & Bag It! Cleanup this Sat 9/17

Aloha mai kākou,

Just a reminder that we’ve got another Ka’u community cleanup event this Sat., Sept 17th (from Ka’alu’alu Bay to Kamilo Point). Meeting details outlined in forward below. HWF currently has NO MORE SPACE available in our 4wd pickups/van so if you are looking to volunteer and you have not RSVPed than you must provide your own ride.

Other news:
September is "Give Aloha" month.

During the month of September, customers are invited to make donations of up to a cumulative total of $249 (per person, per organization) at checkout to their favorite Hawai’i non-profit organization registered in the Give Aloha program. Donations are accepted at any Foodland, Sack N Save or Foodland Farms checkout.

A code is assigned to each organization for donation tracking at checkout – Hawai‘i Wildlife Fund’s code is 77187.

This year, Foodland and the Western Union Foundation will match each donation up to at least $250,000 for all organizations combined. If total customer donations exceed the matching gift, the matching gift will be divided proportionately among all participating organizations.
